Twelve Diesel Tech Students Named 2023 Prairie State Tractor Scholarship Recipients

For the second year, Prairie State Tractor was able to award scholarships aimed at developing and supporting future ag service technicians. This year over $20,000 in scholarship funds were raised by the local agriculture and farming community through sponsorships and donations at the annual Farmer's Open golf outing at Timber Ridge Golf Club in Lacon, Illinois. Recipients were awarded scholarships ranging from $750 to $2,000 dollars to support their studies at diesel tech schools.

Scholarship recipients included James Adkisson of Annawan, IL (Black Hawk College), Eric Ebersole of Sterling, IL (John Deere Tech at Lake Land College), Aidan Harner of Fairbury, IL (DPET at Illinois Central College), Oliver Heinz of Edwards, IL (DPET at Illinois Central College), Cody Langland of El Paso, IL (DPET at Illinois Central College), Zach Menold of Princeville, IL (DPET at Illinois Central College), Levi Nodine of Streator, IL (John Deere Tech at Lake Land College), Landon Potter of Bismarck, IL (Parkland College), Joseph Robinson of Mineral Point, WI (John Deere Tech at Lake Land College), Calvin Seier of Amboy, IL (Kishwaukee College), Kyle Stoller of Chenoa, IL (Parkland College), and Jonathon Winans of La Fayette, IL (DPET at Illinois Central College).

"We were blown away by the number of applicants this year," says Todd Crowley, Corporate Service Manager at Prairie State Tractor. "It was well over a 300% increase in applicants in 2023 versus 2022." Crowley adds, "I would like to sincerely thank the local colleges, high schools, and FFAs for helping get the word out."

The 2023 Timber Ridge Farmer's Open golf outing has been set for August 4, 2023. We are currently seeking hole sponsors, auction donations, and golfers to make this our best year yet!
