Model Year 2023 John Deere Gators Get Tech Upgrade with AutoTrac Ready Option

Recently John Deere announced several new features, options, and upgrades that will be available on Model Year 2023 John Deere Gator Utility Vehicles. Let's dive in and see what's new!

Factory-installed AutoTrac™ option

To assist with precision farming tasks, MY2023 full-size XUV 835 and 865 Gators can now be ordered as AutoTrac Ready. As AutoTrac Ready, the Gator comes from the factory equipped with necessary wiring harness and brackets. Customers can order a 4640 Universal Display and StarFire™ 7000 Receiver to be added to their Gator, or they can repurpose units they already own. After activating their subscription, farmers can use hands-free steering to reduce overlap, improve operator and input efficiency, and decrease operator fatigue.

When equipped with the AutoTrac Ready option, vehicles include a JDLink Modem that connects the vehicle to the John Deere Operations Center and other machines in the producer’s fleet. For example, a planter operator can flag the location of a large rock so the utility vehicle can be sent to the location to remove the hazard. Maintenance plans can be added. Vehicle status, diagnostic codes, and location can be communicated wirelessly for remote monitoring.

Features now included in base price for full-size Gator Utility Vehicles:

  • Factory-installed side mirrors to improve visibility on cab vehicles
  • Spray-in liner in the cargo box for added durability on M- and R-trim vehicles
  • Cargo box power lift for easy dumping on all R-trim models
  • Brake and taillights for added visibility on M- and R-trim vehicles
  • Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 extreme-terrain radial tires on steel wheels on M-trim vehicles
  • Predator Heavy-Duty all-terrain radial tires on alloy wheels on R-trim vehicles

Notable changes for MY23:

  • The towing capacity of one-row full-size Gator XUVs is being doubled to 4000 lbs.
  • To prevent water from draining off the side of the cab, model year 2023 roof drainage channels are revised to direct the water forward towards edges of the windshield, and away from the passengers
  • All E and M trim vehicles come from the factory with black vinyl bench seats. R trim units feature stone cloth bench and black vinyl bench options. All Signature Edition models come equipped with a genuine leather bench seat. Previously used yellow and bucket seat options have been discontinued on full-size vehicles.

Ordering & Availability 

Model Year 2023 John Deere Gator orders started being accepted as of June 29, 2022 with shipments starting in fall 2022.
